Oliver Lowe
Biography:
Although Oliver was born in Domazlice (1983), he spent his “wild” times in Plzen (Pilsen).
While attending high school, the group “Divokej Zapad” was established together with other mcs, where Oliver still called himself Snupa. In 2001, they released eponymous carrier and despite the fact, neither the sound nor the efforts of mcs were not a show-stopper, young people really liked it. Then the group had lots of concerts all around the Czech Republic. After one and a half of a year the group breaks up and Oliver starts to collect vinyls, to study music across all genres and listens to it. He writes lyrics, but does not publish any music, does not hurry. In 2008, the independent label Everydays was established. It connects more or less known artists and introduces their creations to the public. Through this label, Oliver released his instrumental piece called Premykac A, where he cooperates with musicians for his first time.
In 2010, Everydays, in cooperation with jazz label Amplion Records, published Oliver’s debut album “Penize nebo Zivot”, which is based on jazz and soul roots, that are enlaced by hip hop beats. It is all live recorded and critics find it as the best hip hop album on the domestic scene of the year. Thanks to the overlap, it gets also to not hip hop audience. Beside Oliver, other guests are on the mic – Vec (Trosky), Rest, Jelinek (Dizzastarr, Dezrechts), Erika Fecova (singer from Navigators). As to musicians, we can mention saxophonist Pavel Hruby, Belgian violinist Stefan Coltura or nowadays famous Slovakian pianist Jozef Holly. Aside from Oliver, Ondrej Zatkuliak, Sasa, Lukas Marecek and Petr Benysek helped to produce the whole album, that was released on CD digipack. It was sold out in few months. Nowadays, it is possible to get it only in digital form.
Out of this album, Oliver featured in songs of domestic hip hop artist such as Dj Wich & Rasco, Paulie Garand (BMP), IdeaFatte and others.
In the end of 2011, the second album “Penize nebo Zivot 2” was finished in cooperation with young beatmaker Talpas. This piece is a remake of the previous one – same themes of song, different musical bases and different texts. Foreign interpreters as female mc Akua Naru (USA), Lona (Poland), Ed & Enz(France) and producers Shingo Suzuki and Mabanua (Japan) cooperate on the album, next to the old crew of musicians. The album was again released in the form of CD digipack.

Oliver set up a group Oliver Lowe & Friends, that regularly concerts in clubs and festivals across the Czech Republic. Oliver is backed by Filip Sasek (keyboard) and Radim Knapp (trupmet). Also Talpas often goes on concerts as a DJ.
