Ridina Ahmedová
Ridina Ahmedová (1974), belongs to the most interesting singers on Czech scene and this is partly due to her unique musical approach. Since 1999 she acts on the Pragues jazz scene and she collaborated with various personalities of the jazz scene. She participated in the project Floex (music on the border of dance music, classical music and jazz – CD Pocustone 2001), further she composed music to several theatre performances. Later she turned to her own author music and performs on her own. In November 2003 came out with her own project “Hlasokraj“, which was an instant success and brought her Next wave Award 2004 in “newcommer” category.
Ridina is interested particularly in potential of the female voice, as an independent musical instrument. She uses the method of voice layering, whereas the voices take place of the traditional instruments or resemble noises completely different. In this acoustic jungle of voices various clearings of different moods, rhythms and styles rise and fall.
