About us
We are young company from Prague that was established by Lucie Kukulová in 2003.
Our label is focusing on projects of (not only) young professional musicians, whom we help and make possible, in cooperation with the recording studio Svengali of Alexej Charvát, to release a top quality/low cost albums. This combination require huge amount of enthusiasm from all participants.
We also put accent on special original sound of our label. Alexej Charvát, producer, composer, pedagogue, experienced jazz musician and shaman of mixing desks, who backs up our projects, is our ever- ready standby.
We are trying to put down Czech author activity in the fields of jazz music. Good news are that there are many projects to choose from! Loads of interesting personalities already surfaced from the generation of young musicians and they are vice versa further formed by this environment. We are very happy to help them in their professional growth.
Music is very important part of national culture and author music of Czech musicians in the fields of jazz already has a tradition and, at the same time, is not a field that is specially targeted by the big international labels in Czech Republic. Our label specialize in this field, because these people represent our country at the important European and international jazz festivals and by doing so contribute to the idea of European integration and international cooperation in general. In our opinion they deserve the utmost support.
The idea of international cooperation is very close to us. In future, we would like to focus on projects with participation of jazz personalities from abroad. We all have something to look forward to.
What makes us very proud is, that our interprets and our work is being well received not only by the critique and musical periodicals but also by the juries of national musical contests. Vertigo Quintet won the prize Anděl Allianz 2005 of Academy of popular music, in the category jazz record of the year, with the debut CD Vertigo Quintet. This prize is the equivalent of Grammy award in the Czech Republic.
